lol.... well.. yup and that's why I called it turkey day, the Indian nations do not celebrate Thanksgiving and I am pretty sure I am currently living on what was at one point and should still be INDIAN LAND

I also do not celebrate Xmas, so I just refer to the whole shebang as the holidays, don't get me started...

I'm part native American and am dating a Native American and we're celebrating Thanksgiving. haha. I think for us, its more family time though.

I think with most holidays, is what you make of it, I love cooking a big meal and having friends and family over. This year I am all alone due to my move but I have been known to have turkey day in the middle of summer just because

We just got back from the emergency vet because we had to put one of our dogs down. Dont think it really matters that its Thanksgiving or not, its just a shitty day no matter what. We dont have childern so our dogs are very much like our childeren to us. We are gona miss the little bastard more than I can tell you but it reminds me how important friendships and the people (and animals) you love are.

Be thankful for today and for those you love beit family, friends or pets. Enjoy the time you have with them while you can, because tomorrow they could be gone.

...............Yep thats me and my father is an influential native american speaker so the subject touches close even though I'm only a little over a quarter native american. Thank you guys for being respectful about how most native americans feel about what happened and the meaning of calling it "Thanksgiving".

So sorry PARA, my dogs are my life, they are my family now and turkey or not we had a small feast and cuddle in the bed for warmth ....IT SNOWED!! I am so sorry of the passing of a little one, it is never easy... hugs from us, think of the good times, the wet noses poking at you in past thanksgivings
